Guidelines

Candidates with impairments must utilize the same nomination link.

In this process, prospective candidates shall not pay any electoral-related fees at any level to any person or other body.

Only candidates who submit their applications by the specified deadline will be evaluated.

The Dean of Students will give a Certificate of Eligibility to Contest to candidates who meet the nomination conditions, and they will be declared duly nominated for the corresponding posts.

All Candidates must familiarize themselves with the Makerere University Guidelines for Conducting the 88th Guild Elections (November 2022 – February 2023).

In July of this year, the Makerere University Council prohibited physical guild elections following the murder of a student during an election campaign brawl.

Betungura Bewatte, a second-year law student at the Uganda Christian University (UCU) Kampala Campus, was fatally injured in a scuffle during the last days of campaigning.

This also caused the suspension of guild elections.
