Lockdown is an opportunity for the corrupt to steal, says Bobi Wine

The leader of National Unity Platform (NUP), Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine has castigated President Museveni for locking down the country at a very critical time without enough preparation.

The head of National Unity Platform (NUP), Robert Kyagulanyi false name Bobi Wine has blasted President Museveni for securing the country at a crucial time without sufficient planning.

His comments came soon after the head of state announced an all out lockdown on Friday late evening following the demise of 234 Ugandans because of Covid-19 over the most recent one month.

Museveni said the actions set up will assist with containing and check the expanding instances of Covid-19.

In an articulation, Kyagulanyi said that the move taken by the head of state is shocking on the grounds that we have had over a year to design and get ready for this second.

“The cash (in billions) which Ugandans gave in the main lockdown was terribly mismanaged.The Auditor General’s report uncovered terrific debasement in the administration of Covid-19 funds,”said Kyagulanyi.

While in nations like Malawi, the President pushed the limit and fired priests and authorities who were associated with the extortion, Kyagulanyi said for our situation, Museveni has rather reappointed or even raised authorities who have decided to improve themselves to the detriment of the existences of Ugandans.

“Oxygen isn’t sufficient. ICU beds are just 218 in the entire country! Gen. Museveni had the boldness to say that he had requested that his authorities set up 42,000 beds which was not executed. How is it possible that they would do this when they were occupied with plundering and misusing the assets intended to deal with the pandemic?” he questioned.

Confronted with expanding passings and individuals in basic condition, Kyagulanyi said that Museveni chose to force a lockdown for 42 days.

“The quantity of incredibly poor and weak Ugandans has been on the increment. Numerous Ugandans live hand to mouth. With no arrangement of social government assistance, it is unsurprising what will happen,”he noted.

He said that the answer for this load of difficulties is the freedom of the country.

“However long this bad system still illicitly manages our country, we will undoubtedly see the circumstance go from terrible to worse,”he said.
