Kane to Man City Lukako return all latest.

The Blues owner is ready to back Thomas Tuchel to boost his squad in defence, midfield and attack and is getting involved himself over a potential return for Lukaku, according to Eurosport.

ROMAN DRIVING LUKAKU BID

Roman Abramovich is reportedly personally driving the push to bring Romelu Lukaku back to Chelsea, according to reports.

The Blues owner is ready to back Thomas Tuchel to boost his squad in defence, midfield and attack and is getting involved himself over a potential return for Lukaku, according to Eurosport.

The report claims talks have already started but that Manchester City could yet scupper a deal because they are offering higher wages.

FOUR CITY SALES TO LAND KANE?

Man City will consider bids for FOUR first-teamers in a bid to land Harry Kane, according to reports this morning.

The Athletic says City could ship out Riyad Mahrez, Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus, though suggests Aymeric Laporte is the most likely to leave in order to raise transfer funds.

The report says Kane has made City his first-choice destination but that City face a fight to pull off the transfer. Levy does not want to sell Kane but is thought to be particularly reluctant to do so to a Premier League rival.

Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Kane applauds the fans after the final whistle during the Premier League match at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, London.
MAN CITY KEEN TO REPLACE AGUERO

Manchester City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak says his club intend to send a message in this summer’s transfer window and has vowed to find the right replacement for Sergio Aguero this summer.

City look set to spend big on reshaping Pep Guardiola’s squad and have a large hole to fill following record goalscorer Aguero’s move to Barcelona.

Tottenham striker Harry Kane has been heavily linked with a move to the Etihad Stadium, and even named Kevin De Bruyne as his ideal team-mate, while Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland has also been touted as a possible target.

Following City’s third Premier League title in four years and a maiden run to the Champions League final – where they lost to Chelsea – Al Mubarak believes it is important to improve their squad.

“You need to constantly bring talent into the team, refresh and particularly when you are at a high level on the top,” he said, speaking in an interview with the club’s website. “Having won the league it is not the team to sit back and be content, that is the biggest mistake. This is the time to send a strong message that there is no contentment, you are not satisfied with just winning the league.

“We lose a very important legend in Sergio Aguero, very hard shoes to fill but I am confident we will find the right player to fill those shoes. There are other areas in the team that need investment, not too many, it is not about numbers, it is about quality.

“The squad is a phenomenal squad, you don’t win the Premier League and get to the Champions League final if you don’t have a good squad. We will bring quality into the squad in a couple of key positions.”

CAMPBELL: EVERTO SHOULD GO FOR CONTE

Former Everton striker Kevin Campbell says the club should try to appoint Antonio Conte as successor to Carlo Ancelotti.

ANCELOTTI THANKS EVERTON

Ancelotti, who joined Everton on a four-and-a-half-year contract in December 2019, said: “I would like to thank the board of directors, the players, and the Evertonians for the tremendous support they have all given me during my time at the club.

“I have complete respect for everyone associated with Everton and hope they can achieve the exciting opportunities they have in front of them.

“While I have enjoyed being at Everton I have been presented with an unexpected opportunity which I believe is the right move for me and my family at this time.”

EVERTON BOARD TO MEET TONIGHT

The Everton board will be meeting tonight to discuss possible replacements for the departing Carlo Ancelotti.

A deal is yet to be finalised with Real Madrid but is expected to happen sooner rather than later

We also understand that the Everton board met last week to support Carlo Ancelotti with his plans for next season, however since then the Italian told the club he wanted to leave.

WEST HAM CONFIDENT MOYES WILL STAY

West Ham remain confident that David Moyes will sign a new three-year contract extension, despite rumours linking him with a return to Everton.

West Ham’s impressive campaign has already triggered a 12-month extension to his initial 18-month deal – which ends this summer.

Negotiations over Moyes’ new deal are well advanced.

PALACE ALSO KEEN ON COOPER

Another candidate highly regarded at Palace is Swansea’s Steve Cooper.

The former England U17 manager has also been linked with a number of jobs in recent weeks and defeat in the Championship play-off final will only increase the chances of his departure from South Wales this summer.

Palace have also considered Frank LampardPatrick Vieira and Barnsley’s highly-rated coach, Valerian Ismael.

Thomas Frank was another candidates under consideration. However, Brentford’s 2-0 Play off final victory has reduced the changes of him heading from West to South London.

NUNO REMAINS PALACE FAVOURITE

Nuno Espirito Santo remains the favourite to become manager of Crystal Palace after three days of talks with the club.

The former Wolves boss is understood to be keen to return to management immediately and feels he has a point to prove after his sacking at Molineux just over a week ago.

Palace may want to act fast as the Portuguese coach has been linked with the vacant Tottenham job and is known to be coveted by a number of other Premier League clubs.

LUTHRA TO LEAVE PALACE

England youth goalkeeper Rohan Luthra is set to leave Crystal Palace after more than a decade at the club.

The 6ft 5in Punjabi stopper joined Palace as an eight-year-old and made his debut for the U18s aged just 15. He signed his first professional contract in football with the Eagles ahead of last season.

Luthra earned a double-scholarship to attend Croydon’s famous Whitgift School, where he spent two years playing in the same team as Chelsea and England winger Callum Hudson-Odoi. The pair won back-to-back national Independent Schools Football Association Cups together, with Luthra keeping a clean sheet and Hudson-Odoi scoring a hat-trick in a 3-0 win in the 2014 final.

Luthra’s imminent departure from Palace will leave just three professionally contracted British South Asian footballers in the Premier League – Leicester City’s Hamza Choudhury, Tottenham attacking midfielder Dilan Markanday and Manchester United youngster Zidane Iqbal.

JAGIELKA, RODWELL AMONGST BLADES DEPARTURES

Phil Jagielka, John Lundstram, Simon Moore and Jack Rodwell will depart Sheffield United when their contracts expire this summer

Sheffield United were relegated from the Premier League in the 2020/21 season.

Youngsters Ashton Hall and Tommy Williams will also depart, while Ethan Ampadu returns to parent club Chelsea following his loan.

Kean Bryan has been offered a new contract at the club.

POMPEY IN POLE POSITION FOR ROBERTSON

Portsmouth remain in the driving seat for in-demand defender Clark Robertson – despite shock interest from Poland.

Ekstraklasa side Slask Wroclaw have joined the race for the 27-year-old, who is out of contract this summer having rejected a new deal at Rotherham.

The centre-back is involved in a transfer tussle between WroclawPortsmouthIpswichAberdeen and Hapoel Jerusalem.

The Press Association understands Aberdeen have made a fresh approach, with boss Stephen Glass having made him a priority signing.

Aberdeen are in the Europa Conference League second qualifying round but a move to Poland would also offer Robertson European football next season, with Wroclaw having reached the first qualifying round by finishing fourth in the Ekstraklasa.

GILMARTIN NAMED SWINDON ASSISTANT

Rene Gilmartin has been appointed assistant manager at Swindon.

Gilmartin and new Robins boss John McGreal worked with each other at Colchester, with the former goalkeeper featuring 22 times for the club in the 2018/19 season.

McGreal told Swindon’s website: “I know what type of character he is. Very, very hard working, studious of the game and a thoroughly professional coach.

“I know all the attributes that he’ll bring as a coach and as a person. It’s the trust factor as well, I know he’s someone that will get the best out of the squad and the staff in and around him as well.”

EXCITING MOVE IF PEP-LIKE ANGE JOINS CELTIC’

Ange Postecoglou could be announced as the next Celtic manager in the next few days, ex-Rangers defender Craig Moore – a former advisor to the former Socceroos boss – tells Sky Sports News.

ANCELOTTI REAL’S FIRST CHOICE

Real Madrid want Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti to return to the Bernabeu to replace Zinedine Zidane.

Ancelotti was in charge of Real between 2013 and 2015, winning ‘La Decima’ – a 10th European Cup – in his first season with Zidane as his assistant before a second season with Los Blancos was seriously hampered by injuries.

Cadena SER‘s ‘El Larguero’ first broke the news the Everton boss has moved to the top of the list of those wanted to replace Zidane ahead of other candidates including Mauricio Pochettino, Antonio Conte and Castilla coach Raul.

HAKIMI LIKELY TO DEPART INTER

Achraf Hakimi appears to be the most likely of Inter Milan’s star players to leave this summer, according to Sky in Italy.

Morocco international Hakimi is being hotly pursued by Paris Saint-Germain, although their most recent offer of around £52m is some way short of Inter’s valuation of £70m.

Inter are looking to cash in on at least one of their high-profile players, which was part of the reason behind Antonio Conte’s decision to quit as manager last week.

Sky Sports News reported on Monday that Chelsea have interest in another of those players, their former striker Romelu Lukaku.

Conte’s replacement as Inter boss is also expected to be confirmed as former Lazio head coach Simone Inzaghi in the next 48 hours.

And Lazio continue to talk with former Chelsea and Juventus manager Maurizio Sarri about their vacancy, with sporting director Igli Tare spending time at Sarri’s house on Monday.

AGUERO: I THINK MESSI WILL STAY AT BARCA

Sergio Aguero says he thinks Lionel Messi will stay at Barcelona, as the former Manchester City striker joins up with his Argentina teammate at the Nou Camp.

DODDS NAMED NEW INVERNESS BOSS

Billy Dodds is the new manager of Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

Dodds played for Scotland and many clubs including Rangers, Aberdeen, Chelsea, St Johnstone and Dundee.

HAZARD SHUTS DOWN REAL EXIT TALK

Eden Hazard has denied claims he wants to return to Chelsea this summer, insisting he is determined to prove himself at Real Madrid.

The Belgian has struggled in La Liga since his club-record transfer of £130m in the summer of 2019. Things have not worked out for the 30-year-old with injuries and a loss of form limiting him to just 21 starts in two campaigns.

But Hazard said: “I still have a three-year contract with Real Madrid, so going back to England is out of the question. Everyone knows that my first two years were not good. First I want to prove myself at Real Madrid. I will do everything to do that.

“I certainly don’t see myself leaving Madrid, given the contract situation. “For myself, I know myself and I know when I’m in shape. If that’s the case, I can give it my all for Real next season. That’s my plan.”

RUMMENIGGE TO STEP DOWN AT BAYERN

Karl-Heinz Rummenigge is stepping down as Bayern Munich chairman six month earlier than anticipated.

Rummenigge was due to leave the Bundesliga champions at the end of 2021 but has brought forward his departure to June 30.

Former Bayern and Germany goalkeeper Oliver Kahn will take over from Rummenigge, who has been on Bayern’s board for almost 30 years.

Rummenigge is reported to have argued for the change to be made early to avoid a 2021/22 season being split under two different leaders.

The 65-year-old also played for Bayern for 10 years and made 95 appearances for West Germany, winning the European Championship in 1980.

Former Football Association technical director Les Reed has joined Wrexham as an advisor to the board.

Reed has agreed to join Hollywood actor-owners Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds with the specific brief of creating a football strategy for the Vanarama National League club.

“When Shaun Harvey presented the chance to help return Wrexham to the EFL, it was an opportunity that was exceptionally interesting and a challenge I wanted to take on,” Reed told the club website.

“It reminds me very much of when I first went to Southampton under new ownership in League One, where the objective was to return the club to the Premier League at the earliest opportunity, while creating a sustainable business model.

“As it was then, the recruitment of players for the first team will be key to join those in the current squad who will be retained, if financial terms can be agreed.

“I look forward to working with everyone at the club involved with the recruitment and development of players, and the new manager in particular.”

Aaron Ramsey admits he has endured a frustrating “couple of years” at Juventus amid exit talk and injury struggles, but says he is committed to the Serie A club.

The 30-year-old midfielder has struggled to make the desired impact in Italy since leaving Arsenal as a free agent in 2019, starting just 13 games this season.

But Ramsey told Sky Sports: “It’s obviously been a very frustrating period for me over the past couple of years picking up several niggling injuries.

“When you go to a new club, you want to hit the ground running, to show everyone what you’re capable of doing consistently. Injuries that set you back a couple of weeks prevents you generating any rhythm. Covid hasn’t helped.”

When asked if he will be returning to Turin after the Euros, Ramsey added: “Yes, I’m a Juventus player.”

GARCIA BACK TO BARCELONA

Eric Garcia is back at Barcelona – that’s two free transfers from Man City wrapped up by the La Liga giants in less than 24 hours following Sergio Aguero’s switch.

Garcia joined Barca’s academy in 2008 and continued his development at La Masia until joining City in 2017 but he turned down a new deal at the Etihad last summer and made just six appearances in the Premier League in 2020/21.

Barca have inserted an eye-watering buyout clause of 400m euros into his deal…

CITY DUO FOR KANE?

Manchester City could offer Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus to Tottenham in a bid to land Harry Kane, according to The Sun.

The paper says that the Premier League champions are so desperate to beat neighbours United and Euro conquerors Chelsea to the England captain that they will let both players go in part-exchange.

Harry Kane previously won the Golden Boot in the 2015-16 and 2-16-17 seasons
CHELSEA KEEN ON TRAORE?

We told you yesterday that Chelsea were stepping up their striker search, with Romelu Lukaku and Erling Haaland on their radar.

But the summer transfer window opens next week on June 9 – and that means plenty of names linked with the newly-crowned European champions.

The Telegraph says Wolves’ Adama Traore is another player on Tuchel’s wish list, with the Spain international seen as able to provide competition both at wing-back and in the final third.

AGUERO: BARCA A STEP FORWARD

One player who has moved back to Spain from England is of course Sergio Aguero – and he wasted little time in endearing himself to his new club after being unveiled at the Nou Camp on Monday evening.

“We all know that Barcelona are the best club in the world so I think I made a great decision to be here and I hope to help the team. “Of course it is a step forward in my career and hopefully I can help the team win things. ”

MAN CITY TO MOVE FOR RAMOS?

Could Sergio Ramos be heading to the Premier League?

Man City are reportedly considering offering the defender a two-year deal if he does not extend his Real Madrid contract.

Ramos’ contract at the Bernabeu expires on June 30 and while the report claims his priority is still to renew his Madrid deal, a meeting between the club captain and president is due in the next few days when a decision will be taken.

CHELSEA’S STRIKER SEARCH

Chelsea are likely to invest in their playing squad again this summer – and are interested in both Romelu Lukaku and Erling Haaland.

Lukaku is making the papers this morning but Sky Sports News reported last week that Lukaku was likely to leave Inter, following Antonio Conte’s departure.

Inter need to raise funds and are looking for around £100m for the Belgium international.

CHELSEA YET TO OPEN RUDIGER TALKS

Chelsea have yet to open talks with Antonio Rudiger and his representatives over a new deal.

Rudiger’s contract runs out next summer and he is free to sign a pre-contract agreement with a foreign club in January.

Chelsea were in the process of extending Rudiger’s contract in October ahead of allowing him to leave on loan when Tottenham, PSG and AC Milan were all interested.

A loan move did not materialise after Rudiger opted to stay and fight for his place but while there have been no discussions since, Rudiger is relaxed about his situation as he turns his focus to Euro 2020 with Germany.

Rudiger has made 34 appearances for Chelsea this season, with the Blues keeping clean sheets in 22 of those games.

HEARTS EXODUS

Hearts have confirmed 11 players will leave the club at the end of their contracts as they step up their preparations for a Scottish Premiership return.

Aidy White, Christophe Berra, Zdenek Zlamal, Harry Cochrane, Elliott Frear, Sean Ward and Leeroy Makovora are free agents, while Olly Lee, Colin Doyle, Lewis Moore and Craig Wighton will depart when their deals end on June 9.

‘BARCA ARE BEST CLUB IN WORLD’

Sergio Aguero has already said a few words about his move – and it seems he’s pretty chuffed to return to La Liga.

In quotes translated by Barcelona on their official Twitter feed, Aguero said: “Barca are the best club in the world so I think I made a great decision.

“I’m really happy and hopefully I can help the team to win things.”

AGUERO’S GREATEST PL GOALS
