Joint Medical Stores loses equipment work Ugx 7B in fire
The Management of Joint Medical Stores has said they have lost clinical gear worth shs7 billion in the fire related accident that gutted one of their stores in Industrial Area in Kampala.
Fire that began at around 11:30am on Friday gutted product house stores for Star Pharmaceuticals Limited, Joint Medical Stores (JMS) and Mi-Tech, a hardware gathering organization in Industrial Area.
As per the JMS Executive Director, Bildard Baguma, though they have not yet discovered the specific misfortune occasioned to them, they speculate clinical gear worth shs7 billion lost in the hellfire.
“We have lost various clinical gear we had in our stockroom and our gauge is around shs7 billion and that’s just the beginning. We will find out the specific misfortune occasioned later,”Baguma said.
“From the data we have the fire begun somewhere in the range of 11 and 11:30am earlier today and it appears to have begun from an adjoining distribution center where some welding work was being done on the rooftop.”
Among the things that were demolished by the fire included boxes of condoms and different medications that had been put away in the Joint Medical Store product house in Industrial Area.
Though the Police Fire detachment division sent practically the entirety of their abilities, by 3pm, more than three hours after the fact since breaking out, there was still fire in the product house.
Nonetheless, Nakawa Division Mayor, Ronald Balimwezo Nsubuga accused the advancement to helpless development of the product houses that saw no space left for fire tenders to handily put fire, if there should be an occurrence of any episode like it occurred on Friday morning.
He noticed that he would request KCCA to redress the missteps during the development from the product houses which didn’t follow the endorsed plan.
