Joint Medical Stores give oxygen controllers, covers worth shs240M to Ministry of Health
As the country grapples with an escalating Covid019 situation, the Joint Medical Stores together with Gradian Health Systems have donated 85 robust oxygen regulators and 8000 N95 face masks to the Ministry of Health.
As the nation wrestles with a heightening Covid019 circumstance, the Joint Medical Stores along with Gradian Health Systems have given 85 strong oxygen controllers and 8000 N95 face covers to the Ministry of Health.
The powerful oxygen controllers cost $30,000(shs106 million) while the N95 covers are valued at $40,000(shs141million).
As per Dr. Bildard Baguma , the Joint Medical Stores Executive Director, the gift will help enhance the functionalization of the recently settled Intensive Care Units(ICUs) in the 17 Regional Referral Hospitals in the country.
“In July 2019, the Ministry of Health overhauled 17 Regional Referral Hospitals to set up concentrated Care Units (ICUs) the nation over. Service of Health put resources into hardware, including 109 Gradian Health Systems Critical Care Ventilators (CCVs) provided by Joint Medical Store (JMS). Notwithstanding, for the Critical Care Ventilators to be completely used, they required oxygen controllers to associate the ventilators to the high stream oxygen treatment device. He said that dissimilar to the traditional oxygen controllers which interface with only one ventilator, the gave controllers can uphold up to three ventilators with two of them on high stream oxygen treatment and one on low-stream oxygen treatment.

As per the JMS Executive Director, the basic consideration suppliers were prepared in understanding evaluation, mechanical ventilation, oxygen treatment, aviation route the board, patient observing and nursing bedside care.
