Darwin Nunez of Benfica, a Chelsea target, will cost roughly €75-80 million (£64-68 million) in the summer, according to new owner Ted Boehly.

Since the beginning of February, Romelu Lukaku has only started a handful of Premier League and European games, and he appears to be a player who wants to leave the club.

According to rumours, the new owners may decide to cut their losses in the transfer window and allow the powerhouse leave the club, with a return to Italian football on the cards.

Chelsea will offer Darwin Nunez a five-year contract worth roughly £200,000 per week to come to the Premier League and lead their assault, according to Spylax Media.

Nuez has 34 goals in all competitions for Benfica this season, but his efforts against the Champions League’s top clubs are even more spectacular.

Nuez is a well-rounded, dynamic striker with a lot of promise, and at the early age of 22, he still has a lot of years ahead of him. He is the type of hard-working, efficient player that Thomas Tuchel prefers.

In the midst of all the talk that Chelsea is interested in a transfer, the incoming Blues board has been advised that a deal for Nunez will cost £64-68 million.

“I’m really intrigued to see what happens with Darwin Nunez because I anticipate him leaving Benfica this summer,” Romano said on the Wondergoal Podcast.

“I’m sure. It will depend on the price, since West Ham made a €45 million offer on deadline day in January, which was rejected because Benfica demanded €55 million.

“With €55 million, I don’t think you’re going to buy him now.” So, roughly €75-80 million is required for Darwin Nunez to begin talks with Benfica.”

Spylax Perspective…

Nunez has played a variety of positions for Benfica this season, but he continues to produce goals that have pushed him to one of Europe’s most dangerous players.

£64 million is hardly a large sum of money for a player of his caliber.
