IGP Ochola advises that security precautions be taken and that Covid SOPs be followed.

In a Christmas letter, IGP Ochola advises that security precautions be taken and that Covid SOPs be followed.

John Martins Okoth Ochola, the Inspector General of Police, has advised members of the public to be security conscious while also following the Covid Standard Operating Procedures.

“Like last year, we’re continuing to celebrate the holiday season despite COVID-19’s enormous hardships and impact on many families, companies, and communities around the country.”

Many Ugandans and foreigners have made numerous sacrifices as a result. “We are today confronted with another significant risk posed by the new Omicron variety, which, if not addressed, would result in the loss of many more lives and other health hazards,” warned Ochola.

“I would like to advise all Ugandans and visitors to be attentive and take adequate precautions in the run-up to, during, and after the Christmas season to reduce the risks of terrorism, COVID-19, and violent crime.”

Ochola, on the other hand, stated that while the people enjoys the Christmas festivities, the joint security agencies will be ready to protect them and their belongings.

He mentioned continuing operations in the country targeting Allied Democratic Forces cells, which he claimed are meant to secure everyone’s safety, and he indicated they will continue.

“Despite these festive risks, the Joint Security Agencies are more than prepared this time around and committed to combating any security-related and violent crimes against Ugandans and tourists to the nation.”

“As we enjoy the holidays, let us all remember the heroic cops who are on duty to keep our country secure.” Let me also take this occasion to pay tribute to all of our officers who have died in the course of duty. “We pray for their loved ones throughout this festive season, remembering their ultimate sacrifices, diligence, and love for the country,” he said.
