IAN WRIGHT has been forced to abandon ITV’s live FA Cup coverage.

On Saturday afternoon, the Arsenal veteran was in attendance as a pundit for the FA Cup second round match between Rochdale and Plymouth. Due to a family bereavement, IAN WRIGHT has been forced to abandon ITV’s live FA Cup coverage.

And he was claimed to be in a good mood not only on camera, but also with fans when he engaged with them before of the 12:15 p.m. kickoff.

However, he was forced to leave the game at halftime after learning that a member of his family had died.

Mark Pougatch, the host, said: “I’m worried Ian will not be [with us at halftime]. He has gone to where he is most needed – with his family – due to a family bereavement.”

Wright had tweeted a picture of himself at the match less than an hour before hearing the tragic news.

He captioned the shot, “Just met another Ian Wright,” because he had met another admirer named Ian Wright.

After his family’s death was announced on ITV’s coverage, tributes flooded in for the Gunners great.

“Watching the FA Cup on ITV,” one fan stated. I’m sorry to hear the bad news. “Remain steadfast.”

“Hello Ian,” said another. I just found out that you received horrible news and had to leave the Rochdale vs Plymouth match.

“I’m sending huge hugs and prayers your way.”

“I hope everything is fine with Ian Wright,” another worried viewer added.

Wright was spotted with a number of Rochdale and Plymouth fans just one hour before kick-off.

“Come on Rochdale,” one Rochdale supporter said below a photo of Wright. There are two Ians… Just me… AND… Ian Wright Wright Wright Wright…!!!

“What a nice guy to spend time with the fans posing for pictures.”

Plymouth went on to win 2-1 against Rochdale in the FA Cup third round, advancing to the next round.
