Hoima Bishop Rt Rev Baharagate is Dead

The Bishop Emeritus of Hoima Catholic Diocese, the Rt. Rev. Albert Edward Baharagate Akiiki, has passed on.

Bishop Baharagate died at Nsambya Hospital where he was receiving treatment. He was 93.

He was one of the 12 Bishops who were consecrated on August 1, 1969, by Pope Paul VI during his visit to Uganda.

Albert Edward Baharagate Akiiki served as Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Hoima.

He was appointed as bishop of Hoima on 7 July 1969 and he resigned on 9 March 1991.

He died on 05 April 2023 at Nsambya Hospital in Kampala.
