Muhoozi made the decision while visiting the 3rd Infantry Division in Moroto on Thursday.
Lt Gen Kainerugaba was on a working tour to assess troop readiness in the ongoing re-enforced campaign to disarm Karamojong warriors.
During his tour, CLF Muhoozi held a meeting at Moroto Division headquarters with various leaders and stakeholders.
He stated during the meeting that the government has taken deliberate efforts to build and maintain peace, security, and stability in the Karamoja sub-region.
He asked civilians with illegal guns to stop cattle theft and to work with the government to restore peace and stability in the region in order to transform it.
Brig Gen Joseph Balikudembe, the commander of the 3rd Infantry Division, spoke at the same gathering and urged all parties involved in the disarmament exercise to work together with security forces to bring total peace to Karamoja.
Commanders of the UPDF, police officers, officers from the Internal Security Organization operating in the region, and other key civilian players attended the conference.
