On Thursday, Manchester City was back to practicing, and we observed the following. On Thursday, Manchester City continued their pre-season preparations in preparation for their trip to America.
The City players returned to the CFA at the beginning of the week, led by newcomers Erling Haaland, Julian Alvarez, Kalvin Phillips, and Stefan Ortega, and have been focusing on improving their health in preparation for a resumption of play one week from today. Prior to facing Liverpool in the Community Shield, Pep Guardiola’s team will play Club America and Bayern Munich in the United States.
The following four items were captured on camera during the City meeting on Thursday.
1 – Pep is not happy with the weather.
The City manager was obviously taking advantage of the unusually bright days in Manchester this week because, as soon as he arrived on the pitch on a dark, cloudy (but still warm!) Thursday, he raced to ask the cameraman, “Winter is back, huh?”
Guardiola will soon have access to some more favorable weather, which is fortunate.
2 – Excellent skills on display
Naturally, there were a lot of feats and movies on display in a lesson that had so many amazing actors. Joao Cancelo casually sliced down the ball with his heel behind his standing leg before passing it again before the meeting had even begun.
Bernardo Silva later in a rondo had the ball in a tricky situation but flicked a pass with a rich drag back. Ederson, not to be outdone, made a great save as he got ready to tip a shot onto the post.
3 – Alvarez is mentioned briefly.
new debut Before the meeting began, Julian Alvarez was seen pausing for a brief conversation with Guardiola. The Argentine wonderkid has expressed his desire to play across the attack in the past, so perhaps he was considering what his role might be in the forthcoming endeavor.
4 – Ake Zinchenko is diligently practicing.
The fates of Nathan Ake and Aleks Zinchenko at City are still the subject of rumors. Chelsea needs Ake to ascertain their lack of center backs, and the Blues are open to a transfer as long as they can find a replacement and if their asking price is reached.
Arsenal and Everton are reportedly in need of Zinchenko in the interim. However happy he may be at the Etihad, the Ukrainian would be open to moving if he is assured of playing time in his leaning toward midfield position.
Despite their previous vulnerabilities, the two players were working diligently to prepare during Thursday’s meeting.
