Mortada Mansour has been officially removed as president of Zamalek by the Ministry of Youth and Sports. Mansour had temporarily left the club after being sentenced to a month in prison for verbally insulting Al Ahly president Mahmoud El-Khatib.
The club’s board of directors then appointed Soliman Wahdan as the club’s interim president two months ago. However, the administrative court ruled that Mansour should be removed as Zamalek’s president by Sports Minister Ashraf Shobi.
A few days later, the Ministry of Youth and Sports issued an official statement confirming the decision. It ordered the club to find a suitable replacement.
