Unknown to the public, Ben Elliot Njongoue discovered the selection of Cameroon during the last meeting for the qualifications for the 2023 AFCON. The 20-year-old player who was born to a Cameroonian father and a British mother, returned on his first selection with the Indomitable Lions. “I received the call from the coach (Rigobert Song) who asked me if I want to play for Cameroon. I was happy, it was an easy decision for me. I said yes and that’s how I knew I had to play for Cameroon,” he explained.
The Chelsea player adds. “My first stay in Cameroon went really well. I was happy to learn. The training sessions were really good. Everyone welcomed me, the players, the staff. People here are really passionate about soccer. I love the atmosphere of the team…”
