The recordings will be broadcast in conjunction with a contest that is expected to draw more than five billion spectators from all across the world.
According to FIFA President Gianni Infantino, “Football brings people together like nothing else.” The FIFA World Cup will honor our shared passion for the game and our sense of community.
FIFA will collaborate with a number of international organizations under the slogan “Football Unites the World” to promote important causes throughout the World Cup, including the struggle against discrimination, sustainable development, and education.
The FIFA World Cup is about values and causes that extend well beyond the playing field, and while soccer is still our primary priority, Mr. Infantino said, “We are thrilled that soccer great past and present have joined us in promoting and publicizing these concerns, which also unify the world.
“This marketing effort pays homage to soccer. The effort has begun with the players who have joined us, but the supporters have also played a significant role. This is our way of urging them to actively participate in this unique celebration: from wherever they may be in the world, we suggest that they share their passion for soccer on social media to show how it links people worldwide.”
