‘Fake’ Karamojong politicians are assaulting me because of my anti-cattle rustling stance-Muhoozi

Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the Commander of Land Forces, has stated that “certain false Karimojong politicians” are attempting to defame him for his firm and uncompromising stance on cattle rustling in the Karamoja subregion, which has caused many people to restless nights.

“First and foremost, the people of Karamoja are behind me and the UPDF.” Military activities in Karamoja will be stepped up. Muhoozi tweeted, “The livestock rustlers will be eliminated.”

Muhoozi claimed that he has been in the Karamoja sub-region for two weeks and that it is “the most calm portion of the country,” adding that the few remaining livestock rustlers will be dealt with harshly.

“If necessary, we will teach the cattle rustlers Christianity through the barrel of a rifle.” My brothers in Teso are requesting that the Arrow Boys be re-armed.

First and foremost, after Mike Mukula and Hon Ecweru, I believe I am the third highest commander of the Arrow Boys. To deal with Kony, Otti, and Tabuley, we formed the Arrow Boys. “We were successful in our mission,” he said.

Muhoozi stated that reactivating the Arrow Boys is unnecessary, and that the current insecurity in the region is a “minor issue.”

Warriors from both within and outside of Kenya have wreaked havoc in Karamoja in recent months, not only stealing animals but also killing innocent people, including security personnel.

Three geologists and two UPDF troops were killed last month, prompting Muhoozi to threaten the murderers with “hell.”

After the army neutralized gun-wielding rustlers in the early 2000s, the sub-region experienced a period of relative quiet.

The rustlers, on the other hand, have rearmed, obtaining guns from Kenya and South Sudan across the porous border, and have returned to their old ways.

Lawmakers from the Karamoja sub-region have petitioned the government to send in the Arrow Boys to combat the vice, arguing that the UPDF is not doing enough to handle the sub-security region’s crisis.
