Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, a great player for Chelsea, is apparently interested in a summer transfer to Inter Milan. The striker will be free to leave Stamford Bridge because he is not Graham Potter’s priority.
Inter has reportedly joined the competition to sign Aubameyang this summer, according to Gazzetta. MLS teams and Barcelona are currently vying for the forward’s signing.
Romelu Lukaku’s replacement, in Inter’s eyes, should be Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, the source claims.
The Belgian has not performed at his best this year, and it is unlikely that his loan agreement will be renewed in the summer.
Barcelona will also attempt to re-sign their former player when the transfer market opens. He was also someone they wanted to sign in January, but La League regulations barred them from doing so.
Potter thinks Aubameyang still has a chance to start despite his limited playing time for Chelsea, saying:
“He is trying to make the team. Excellent response to the predicament we have been in. He is a hireable individual. Chelsea make a judgment over Aubameyang while Inter and Barcelona are also interested.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was not a member of Chelsea’s Champions League team this season for the knockout round. Potter made the decision to dismiss the former Arsenal star because they needed to deregister one player to make place for a new acquisition.
In defending his selection, Potter stated:
As Pierre is a professional, I understand that he would be sad, but I don’t believe it will be tough to be without Aubameyang. He was the one that was left out since we had three people coming in and two people having to go.
Added him:
“He has done absolutely nothing wrong. To assess where he is at and to give him the chance, we wanted to give David some game time today. We only witnessed a glimpse of what he is capable of. However, Pierre will have to compete for his spot for the remainder of the season.
Potter continued:
“Of course, we were always going to talk about whatever choice we made, but it was my choice. It was a difficult choice, without a doubt, but sometimes you have to make these choices, and like I said, there is nothing at all wrong with him. He did absolutely nothing wrong.
