Sevilla will play Manchester United in the quarterfinals of the Europa League.
Manchester United’s opponent in the Europa League quarterfinals will be Sevilla. With a spectacular strike from Marcus Rashford, the Red Devils overcame Real Betis at home in the previous round. With goals from Rashford, Antony, Bruno Fernandes, and Wout Weghorst, United defeated the opposition 4-1 in the first leg, which was contested at Old Trafford.
Erik ten Hag’s team had a commanding lead going into the second leg at the Benito Villamarn Stadium thanks to this victory.
Six-time Europa League champion Sevilla advanced to the quarterfinals by defeating Fenerbahce 2-1 on the road.
They have a reputation for being a strong team in this match. They’ve previously eliminated Manchester United twice, once in the Champions League under Jose Mourinho and once under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Manchester United is feeling vindictive as they take on Sevilla after Sevilla eliminated them twice previously. United will be looking to build on their triumph in the Carabao Cup by winning the Europa League this month.
The quarterfinal’s first leg will take place at Old Trafford on April 13, and the second leg will take place at Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium on April 20. Juventus will face Sporting Lisbon, and the winner of that tie will meet the winner of the United/Sevilla encounter.
All of the competitors entering this stage of the Europa League are formidable.
