Dorcus Inzikuru’s house gifted by Museveni to be demolished

Athlete Dorcus Inzikuru has requested government administration intercede and save her home after experts in Arua checked it for destruction to make space of another frontage road.

The house was given to Inzikuru as a prize from President Museveni after her gold success at the Women’s 3000m steeplechase in 2005.

Inzikuru’s success at the time finished Uganda’s long term dry spell without a decoration in worldwide sports.

In a meeting with NBS UNCUT, Inzikuru said that she got her home without a land title and now needs government to mediate for her situation.

“I was only given a letter of occupation and now authorities said that the new city re-planned structures cut through my plot for the access road” Inzikuru said.
