Details on how Komamboga Bomb terror was arranged.
"One of them was carrying a polythene bag with unknown contents, which he deposited under one of the tables. "Friendly suspects interacted with other customers and arranged extra rounds of meals and beverages," Enanga alleged.
On Saturday evening, police detailed how a bomb attack at a popular hangout in Komamboga, a Kampala suburb, was carried out.
According to Fred Enanga, a police spokesperson, the attack, which occurred about 8:30 p.m., was carried out by three perpetrators who first pretended to be customers at the eating establishment.
“One of them was carrying a polythene bag with unknown contents, which he deposited under one of the tables. “Friendly suspects interacted with other customers and arranged extra rounds of meals and beverages,” Enanga alleged.
According to evidence acquired by detectives as part of the preliminary investigations, the assailants left the scene on one occasion before returning, and on the second occasion, they never returned.
“They then vanished, leaving their package at the site.” The explosion occurred moments later, encompassing a five-square-metre radius, implying that the improvised bomb was detonated after they left the area.”
Victims
According to the police spokesperson, four individuals were injured as a result of the explosion, including Emily Nyinaneza, a 20-year-old waitress at the establishment who died as she was being carried to a neighboring health facility after suffering significant injuries to her head, back, and left leg.
Annet Kiconco, Rose Nakitto, and Peter Ssenyonga were among those injured, and they are currently receiving care.
“We continue to urge all members of the community to be particularly attentive and to pay close attention to any types of movements and suspicious behavior in their surroundings,” Enanga said.
“We’re maintaining our security preparedness around the country and focusing more on sites where people congregate.”
