Deputy Speaker Among vows to ensure Odonga Otto’s rival returns to parliament

In the instance of Komakech and Odonga Otto, Among stated that he gave “us one of our little brothers Komakech” when Lokech was still living.

Despite losing the poll petition case to his predecessor and competitor Odonga Otto, Deputy Speaker of Parliament Anita Among has pledged to guarantee that Christopher Komakech returns to the House as Member of Parliament for Aruu County.

During a requiem ceremony for Deputy Inspector General of Police Maj Gen Paul Lokech, Among made the pledge.

Speaking to mourners, Among said she owed her recent election victory to the late Paul Lokech, saying the dead went out of his way to guarantee her success in Bukedea.

In the instance of Komakech and Odonga Otto, Among stated that he gave “us one of our little brothers Komakech” when Lokech was still living.
“I want to reassure the family that we will go to every length to get Komakech back into parliament. She said, “That is the only way we can repay the family.”
Justice Tadeo Atwine of the Gulu High Court ordered new elections for the Aruu Country Member of Parliament seat last Thursday, quashing Komakech’s election due to irregularities.

Odonga Otto had petitioned the court to have Komakech’s win overturned since he had not properly resigned from his civil service post before running for political office.
