Dr. Steven Kazimba Mugalu, the Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, has called for the use of media to bring about socioeconomic change in the communities.
In a speech given at the launch of Church of Uganda Family TV on DStv by Canon Geoffrey Byarugaba, the Provincial Chairman of the House of Clergy Church of Uganda, Kaziimba noted that media should not only be used for spiritual purposes but also to transform the community through well-packaged social and economic programs.
He claimed that the church wants to use the station to improve the communities’ spiritual, physical, and financial well-being.
“This will serve as a catalyst for altering the way we think. How do we use the resources God has given us? How can we value the talents and skills of others? According to Byarugaba, “We think the gospel here will be holistic, touching on the community, the social, the political, and the spiritual.
Amos Mwesigwa, the managing director of CoU Family TV, said they would concentrate on local content and ways to improve communities.
According to him, the community’s socioeconomic development is the focus of specially crafted programs.
These programs cover a variety of topics, including family, economy, and health. We are making sure to provide people with both spiritual and physical nourishment, said Mwesigwa.
He claimed that they had to endure a lot to fulfill their dream.
It is a reality of a dream. We give God praise. Thank God for the chance to bring the gospel and TV to the area.
All digital platforms can be used to access the station.
