CAF Champions League: Simba Coach Oliveira says that we need to improve our quarterfinal preparation.

Simba SC's head coach, Roberto Oliviera 'Robertinho,' has made it plain that the team needs to start making strong preparations right away for the 2022/2023 TotalEnergies CAF Champions League quarterfinal stage.

Simba SC’s head coach, Roberto Oliviera ‘Robertinho,’ has made it plain that the team needs to start making strong preparations right away for the 2022/2023 TotalEnergies CAF Champions League quarterfinal stage.

After qualifying for the quarterfinal last weekend, Oliveira told Sports News Africa that they must now concentrate on and make plans for the quarterfinal round.

Simba SC of the Tanzanian Premier League defeated AC Horoya of Guinea 7-0 in a Group C match played last Saturday at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam to advance to the quarterfinal stage of Africa’s biggest Club Championship.

Simba SC, who finished second in Group C with 9 points, has already advanced to the quarterfinal round after playing Raja Casablanca, the group’s top team, in Morocco.

“I’m happy that we put in the effort to go to the quarterfinal round with one more group game remaining against Raja Casablanca. The Brazilian argued that in order to go to the next step, more effort must be done, and we must begin right away.

Oliviera praised his side for their perseverance and capacity to score many goals against Horoya, despite the fact that Horoya won their first meeting in Guinea 1-0.

The Brazilian coach who moved from Uganda’s Vipers SC to Simba SC in January has made it obvious that he is pleased that his squad is beginning to play the style of football he likes.

I joined Simba SC in January, and of course it takes a coach time to acclimatize, get to know players better, and use the finest techniques, he continued.

In addition to the Tanzania Premier League and the Azam knockout Cup, Oliveira made it plain that he also wants to do well in the Champions League. Simba SC is in second place in the Tanzania Premier League, eight points behind Young Africans SC, their bitter rivals.

Simba SC also advanced to the quarterfinal round of the TotalEnergies CAF Champions two years ago, and they did the same in the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup the previous year.
