Bobi Wine warns leaders about abductions while remaining silent.
Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Robert, also known as Bobi Wine, president of the National Unity Platform, has warned leaders about the continued abductions, warning that it could end up on their doorstep.

Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Robert, also known as Bobi Wine, president of the National Unity Platform, has warned leaders about the continued abductions, warning that it could end up on their doorstep.
“If we continue with this silence, people like Jamshid Kavuma will follow in the footsteps of people like John Bosco Kibalama and others whose whereabouts are still unknown to this day,” Bobi Wine told mourners during the burial of Paul Kawangwa Ssemwogere, “I want to remind you that silence might be the convenient option but that will continue until they come for you or your children.”
Jamshid Kavuma, one of Bobi Wine’s bodyguards, is the most recent abductee, allegedly kidnapped by state security operatives 14 days ago. After the NUP camp applied pressure, Kavuma was reportedly rushed to Mulago hospital in critical condition. He was allegedly apprehended in Masanafu and taken away in a drone.
Last month, media reports indicated a resurgence of what many have referred to as abductions of people, particularly from the opposition. The NUP claimed that more than 30 of their supporters had been kidnapped in just one month, as the wave of arrests that swept the country two years ago resurfaced.
During the burial, Bobi Wine also stated that the late told him about Andrew Lutaakome Kayiira’s death, saying, “When I met Dr. Ssemogerere, he told me about what happened when Lutaakome Kayiira was killed.” I want you all to go tell Kaguta Museveni that I also know everything, and that the world will know the truth when the time comes.”
From 1945 to 1987, Andrew Lutaakome Kayiira led the Uganda Freedom Movement, a guerrilla organization that fought the governments of Milton Obote and Tito Okello between 1980 and 1986. Kayiira and the UFM were frequently viewed as rivals to Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s National Resistance Movement, which was also fighting a guerrilla war against the Obote and Okello governments. Museveni appointed Kayiira as Minister of Energy when the NRM came to power in 1986. He was arrested for treason later that year but later released. On March 9, 1987, he was assassinated by unidentified gunmen.
Former DP president Paul Kawanga Ssemogerere’s body has been laid to rest at Nattale Nkumba Bufulu in Wakiso District.
Paul Kawanga Ssemogerere was a Ugandan politician who served as the Democratic Party’s (DP) leader for 25 years and was a key figure in Ugandan politics until his retirement in 2005.
He was born on 11 February 1932 and will die on 18 November 2022. (90years)
The ceremony was attended by leaders including Prime Minister RH Robinah Nabbanja, opposition politicians, religious leaders, and cultural leaders.
These have praised the late for his wit and leadership abilities.
Following Germina Namatovu’s remarks rejecting the government’s planned gun salute, saying her husband despised guns, there was a crisis meeting. This was between Prime Minister Nabbanja, Gen Katumba Wamala, and other police and army security officials.
Later, 17 gun salutes were fired in honor of former Prime Minister Dr. Paul Kawanga Ssemogerere. Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja claims she is only a delegate and cannot make decisions against the directives.
