Bobi Wine on Museveni’s speech: “He was speaking like an opposition leader against his own regime”

Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine, the leader of the National Unity Platform (NUP), has declared that Ugandans are unfortunate to have a president who, according to him, is not embarrassed of lying.

Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine, the leader of the National Unity Platform (NUP), has declared that Ugandans are unfortunate to have a president who, according to him, is not embarrassed of lying.

Kyagulanyi made the remarks immediately after President Museveni delivered a speech on the security situation in which he admonished security agencies against violating Ugandans’ and other people’s human rights.

The president stressed in his speech that the NRM does not believe in hitting people for any cause and warned security agents not to beat Ugandans while following Covid-19 standard operating procedures, saying it is completely unacceptable.

In a statement, though, Kyagulanyi questioned how the president could tell “blatant lies” with a straight face.

“I can only image how the victims of his heinous crimes felt as they watched him blatantly spew lies, fully indifferent about their suffering. I can tell you that there will be a day of justice for all victims of torture, illegal detentions, and kidnappings,” Kyagulanyi stated.

He claimed that because of Ugandans’ pressure on him, the president was acting like an opposition leader against his own regime this time.

“He knows what awaits him at the International Criminal Court (ICC) waiting room: his pal Omar Bashir! Nothing, absolutely nothing, would spare him from the doom that has befallen all despots throughout history,” he declared.
