Bobi Wine: “Gen Lokech was a fine soldier who accepted to serve a bad regime”

President of the National Unity Platform (NUP), Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine, has described the deceased deputy Inspector General of Police Maj. Gen. Paul Lokech as someone who had a distinguished military career that many younger officers and men aspired to emulate, but which President Museveni destroyed.
His comments came after the death of Gen Lokech, who died of a blood clot at his house over the weekend.
“Gen. Lokech was a brave, valiant, and excellent soldier. His valor on the battlefield has been much lauded. His colleagues remarked on how he led from the front, putting his life on the line at times. Unfortunately, the Museveni dictatorship has not only ruined our country, but it has also made a name for itself by ruining the careers and reputations of outstanding men and women,” Kyagulanyi said in a statement.
It’s a tragedy, Kyagulanyi added, that Lokech has agreed to be exploited to limit political freedom.
“Gen. Museveni, terrified of an approaching election defeat and fully aware of the type of fraud he was planning, decided to deploy Gen. Paul Lokech to prevent any attempt by Ugandans to rise up and regain their democratic rights,” he said.
Many notable people’s deaths have been questioned by Kyagulanyi in recent years.
“Many fatalities have resulted in more questions than solutions to date, and this is one of them. My request to all troops and police officers still alive is that you take a lesson from this catastrophe. We’ll all be gone one day, and all that will be left is the recollection of the job we accomplished. “Put in the effort,” he encouraged.
