Besigye: “UPDF has not offered me any security in Somaliland”
Previous Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) president, Dr. Kizza Besigye, has invalidated reports that the Uganda People's Defense Forces(UPDF) is giving him security in Somaliland where he went to notice decisions.
Besigye offered the comments soon after arriving in the Somaliland capital, Hargeisa as a feature of the Somaliland Election Monitoring Mission (SEMM) group, to screen the parliamentary and nearby government races.
“UPDF has never gone to Somaliland! This is quite possibly the most tranquil and popularity based regions in the Horn of Africa,”Besigye noted.
Besigye was reacting to the case by certain individuals via web-based media that the power is giving him assurance in Somaliland, something he said it’s false.
Somaliland, which has worked as a free republic since affirmation of autonomy from war torn Somalia in 1991, has held ordinary and genuinely fair decisions.
Yet, the Somaliland government has never been officially perceived as a state in spite of a record of harmony, strength and majority rules system. It additionally keeps up relations with different governments.
Formally, Somaliland is a self-announced sovereign state in the Horn of Africa. Globally, it is as yet viewed as a feature of Somalia.
Besigye’s own partner, Ronald Muhinda, noticed that the observing mission was coordinated by the Brenthurst Foundation which is driven by previous representative seat of African Union Commission, Erastus Mwencha and previous Sierra Leone President Ernest Koroma.
