Analysed: Bazzup’s Premier League Matchday 4 Team of the Week. Explained in details appreciating the players performances over the weekend.

The Premier League is the one of the most enjoyable and viewed leagues world wide, while there's been an International break with different players representing their countries in the UEFA Nations League. The League Resumed for matchday four and we take a look at the best performing players of the week in the premier league after a few disappointments and surprises.

Premier League resumed, Manchester United secured a much-needed 3-0 win against Southampton. Manchester City continued their winning streak with a 2-1 victory over Brentford. Chelsea, Aston Villa, and Newcastle all gained three points. The most shocking part of the week was Liverpool’s 1-0 loss to Nottingham Forest at home, with a strike from substitute Hudson-Odoi in the 72nd minute of the match. In North London, Arsenal needed to win the derby without their captain, Ødegaard, due to injury. Both teams had the same number of shots, with Tottenham having more possession. However, Arsenal’s G. Mangoles headed the ball into the back of the net in the 64th minute to secure the win for Arsenal. Another Shocking result was Everton who once again bottled a 2 goal lead losing 3-2 to Aston Villa.

Manager: Nuno Espirito Santo. 

Formation: 4-4-2.

Goalkeeper: Arijanet Muric

The Ipswich Town shot-stopper was put to work against Brighton. The 25-year-old, who signed from Burnley in the summer, made six saves as the Tractor Boys picked up a point away to the high-flying Seagulls. Muric faced shots with an Expected Goals value of 2.45 as the hosts peppered the away side’s goal. His exploits between the sticks earned him a man of the match performance and a rating of 9.3.

RightBack: Dara O’Shea

The Ipswich Town Defender put up a show in his first match in the elite league and makes our team of the week as the right back since he is right footed. He managed 6 Clearances, Blocked 4 shots, 4 Interceptions, 2 tackles, won all of his ground duels and 6 of 7 aerial duels and also completed 74% of his passes earning him a bazzup rating of 8.1.

Centre-Back: Matthijs De Ligt

After a forgettable international break away with the Netherlands, De Ligt bounced back with Manchester United, putting in an impressive display away at Southampton. The 25-year-old scored the opener for the Red Devils to set Erik Ten Hag’s side on their way. He also completed 92% of his passes, cleared a shot off of the line and won 100% of his aerial duels. Also putting up a man of the match performance and earned himself a rating of 8.3.

Centre-Back: Gabriel

The Arsenal centre-back scored the winning goal in the North London derby. Gabriel escaped Cristian Romero to power home a header in the second half in what was the only goal of the game. He was at his resolute best, making eight clearances and winning two of his three ground duels. The Brazil defender was dribbled past on just one occasion as the Gunners secured all three points to extend their unbeaten run in the Premier League this term. Another man of the match performance in our team and thus a rating of 8.8.

LeftBack: Diogo Dalot

The Manchester United wing-back appears in our team of the week after an awakening display against southampton. Though he looked a bit loose in the first 20 minutes after causing a penalty which as saved by their goalkeeper Onana,Dalot stepped up really well and managed to secure an assist to Garnacho after an exciting pass from casemiro. He managed 2 clearances, 2 interceptions, 94% pass completion, 2 key passes and 4 won ground duels winning himself a rating of 8.1.

Centre Midfield: Wilfred Ndidi 

Ndidi starred for the Foxes in their 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace. The 27-year-old midfielder claimed two assists having carved out four chances. He finished with three big chances to his name. Ndidi didn’t shirk his defensive responsibilities either, recovering the ball on seven occasions while involving himself in 19 duels on the day earning him a rating of 8.5.

Centre Midfield: Youri Tieleman (C)

Youri Tielemans played a pivotal role in Aston Villa’s thrilling 3-2 comeback victory over Everton Tielemans was directly involved in Villa’s second goal, delivering a well-placed through ball that led to Ollie Watkins’ equalizer. Tielemans was instrumental in midfield, controlling possession and dictating the tempo of Villa’s play, his vision and passing were key to breaking down Everton’s defensive lines, particularly in the second half. He showcased his ability to find space in central areas, which caused Everton numerous problems throughout the match. He managed 147 Touches with 126 Accurate passes out of 136 attempted passes displacing only 10 passes and 2 Key passes making him our Captain and earning a bazzup rating of 8.2.

Right Midfield: Amad Diallo

Amad Diallo delivered a standout performance in Manchester United’s 3-0 victory over Southampton on saturday. The Ivorian winger was one of United’s most influential players, providing an assist for Marcus Rashford’s goal and creating 6 chances throughout the match, more than any other player on the pitch. His sharp movement, precise passing, and ability to break through Southampton’s defensive lines were key to United’s attacking dominance.

Diallo’s defensive work was equally impressive, winning 5 duels and making  tackles and recoveries, which helped Manchester United maintain control of the game. His 90% pass accuracy, combined with his relentless attacking threat, highlighted his growing influence in Erik ten Hag’s side. He gets himself a Bazzup rating of 8.2.

Left Midfield: Dwight McNeil

McNeil, somehow, ended up on the losing side on Saturday evening. The Everton midfielder finished with two goal involvements having scored the opener and assisted the second for the Toffees, putting in an unbelievable cross for Dominic Calvert-Lewin to nod home. He created the most chances (four) of any player on the pitch and finished with two big chances created. The 24-year-old completed 100% of his tackles but struggled in duels, winning just one of four. His offensive output played a big part and earned a rating of 8.3.

Striker: Ollie Watkins

Watkins played 84 minutes for Villa in their 3-2 win over Everton. The England international scored two goals and carved out one chance for the Villans. What makes this output even more remarkable is the fact he attempted just six passes and had 19 touches. He was barely involved in the game but he made it count when he did get the ball. To go with his two goals, the 28-year-old missed two big chances. His performance at Villa Park earned him a rating of  8.7.

Striker: Erling Haaland

Another game, another two goals for Haaland. The two-time Premier League Golden Boot winner scored twice to make it nine goals in four outings this term. The 24-year-old was the match-winner for City, scoring what turned out to be the winner for the champions as early as the 32nd minute. The No. 9 had as many shots (six) as he had completed passes. It was yet another quintessential Haaland showing. He wasn’t involved much in the build-up but he was the difference-maker in the final third for the reigning champions earning a rating of 8.8.
