Asylum seekers continue to flood the country.

102 Eritreans, 62 Sudanese, five Somalis, four South Sudanese, and three Ethiopians are among the newcomers.

They are being housed in a transit center 40 kilometers (25 miles) south of Kigali by the UN refugee agency, UNHCR, and the Rwandan government.

Since September 2019, 648 asylum applicants, largely from the Horn of Africa, have been moved from Libya to Rwanda.

462 of them have found new homes in Sweden, Canada, Norway, France, and Belgium.

More than 5,000 refugees and asylum seekers, including hundreds of children, are trapped in various sections of Libya, according to the UN refugee agency.

According to the UN, about 7,000 refugees and asylum seekers have been evacuated or resettled from Libya since 2017.
