Asked about the Barcelona transfer rumours, Fernandes slams ‘poor media.’

After a disappointing start to the 2021-22 season at Old Trafford, the Portuguese has been linked with a move to Camp Nou.

Bruno Fernandes, a Manchester United midfielder, has slammed speculations connecting him with a move to Barcelona as “poor journalism.”

After a disappointing start to the 2021-22 season at Old Trafford, the Portuguese has been linked with a move to Camp Nou.

Following his January 2020 transfer from Sporting CP, Fernandes rapidly established himself as a talismanic figure at Old Trafford, but his form has dipped significantly in the first half of the 2021-22 season.

The 27-year-old has only scored once in his previous 14 Premier League appearances, and it’s been reported that he’s one of numerous players who have grown dissatisfied at United, who are currently seventh in the table.

What has been stated so far?
According to SPORT TV, Fernandes has been offered to Barcelona by his representatives, who are attempting to arrange a January deal for the midfielder.

In a direct response to the image on Instagram, Fernandes clarified the situation, telling his followers: “And I thought the new year only started a few days ago, yet we’re already on April 1!”

“Or is this just shoddy journalism once more?” The recent collapse of Fernandes

In his first one-and-a-half seasons with the Red Devils, Fernandes scored 40 goals and added 29 assists, helping them finish second in the Premier League and reach the Europa League final.

However, in 24 appearances this season, the Portugal international has only five goals and nine assists, and he appears to have lost his clinical edge in the last third of the play.

Fans will be hoping that interim manager Ralf Rangnick can start to bring out the best in Fernandes sooner rather than later, with his next chance to shine coming against Aston Villa in the FA Cup third round on Monday.
