As the NRM commemorates Museveni’s 77th birthday, he has been compared to biblical King Solomon.

On Wednesday, Museveni, who is also the Chairperson of the National Resistance Movement (NRM), turned 77 years old.

As the party celebrated President Yoweri Museveni’s birthday, Rose Namayanja Nsereko, the NRM’s Deputy Secretary General, compared him to the legendary King Solomon.

On Wednesday, Museveni, who is also the Chairperson of the National Resistance Movement (NRM), turned 77 years old.

The party secretariat held celebrations at the party headquarters on Kyadondo Road in Kampala to mark the occasion.

Namayanja hailed the president as an iconic leader and a national liberator, whose deeds are testified to and witnessed around the world, in her speech at the event.

Namayanja compared Museveni to King Solomon, who instead of asking God for riches, asked for wisdom, and said that God given Museveni wisdom, allowing him to lead the country this far.

“I want to thank God for giving our president the knowledge to assess the country’s problems and provide the greatest treatment that has brought us this far. Ugandans should be ecstatic to have him as their president because he is the country’s visionary,” Namayanja said.

She praised Museveni for supporting leadership and steady growth for the past 35 years, crediting the president’s patience as the key to his achievement.

Amb. Barbara Nekesa Oundo, the party’s national treasurer, greeted Museveni on his 77th birthday and offered to assist him in driving the country’s progress.

“As our President celebrates 77 years of youth, we young people who have now crossed into the bracket of senior youth but lower division are more than willing to lend a hand to our President’s vision,” Nekesa remarked, amid cries and ululations from the audience.

Rosemary Sseninde, the director for mobilization, cadre identification, and recruiting, was also there and congratulated Museveni for putting women’s empowerment first.

“President Museveni is responsible for who we are as women and what we have accomplished. This would not have been possible without him,” Sseninde remarked, alluding to the high-table, which is dominated by women.
