Arua regional LDU recruitment center registers poor turn up on day one

On the first day of the drill, the Arua regional Local Defense Unit-LDU recruiting facility had a low turnout of candidates.

On the first day of the drill, the Arua regional Local Defense Unit-LDU recruiting facility had a low turnout of candidates.

By 2pm, the exercise, which began at 8 a.m. and targeted any willing national between the ages of 18 and 29, in the region and beyond, at Arua Mayor’s Gardens, had received less than 20 applications.

Four others were rejected away owing to a lack of academic documentation (P7 and S4 slips) and being over the age limit.

The turnout is dismal, according to Ali Mukasa, the DISO Arua in charge of monitoring the LDU recruiting operation. He urged the general people to take advantage of the chance to have their idle kids recruited.

According to Mukasa, the insufficient mobilization is primarily due to the recruiting order’s late issue, which they got yesterday. One of the applicants whose application was denied owing to a lack of Senior Four and P7 slips, Osman Bin Hassan, stated he will gather his paperwork and reapply.

Meanwhile, Mahad Swaib, one of the applicants whose application was accepted, said that many of his coworkers are hesitant to attend LDU because they are afraid of the rigorous training.

The National LDU recruiting exercise is set to wrap up this week on Friday, with the UPDF Liaison Officer overseeing the entire recruitment of the successful applicants.
