At Arsenal, Mikel Arteta has acquired a lot from Bukayo Saka, but he cautions his competitors that the English winger still has a lot to offer.
This year, the 21-year-old has been in outstanding form, scoring 12 Premier League goals to keep Arsenal ahead of the competition.
Saka continued his wonderful form on Sunday by scoring a fantastic goal for the Three Lions in their 2-0 victory over Ukraine at Wembley.
Although Saka’s consistency this year has been uncommon for a player his age, Arteta thinks the youngster is capable of much more.
Notwithstanding what we have seen thus far, the Spaniard claims that his young star still has a lot of potential to grow. He makes this statement as a warning to opponents and perhaps as a message to the player.
When asked if Saka had space for improvement, Arteta replied, “Absolutely.”
“First and foremost, I think you need to understand what he’s been up to. It’s remarkable for someone his age and level to exhibit consistency. He handled it appropriately. He definitely has room for development, if you ask me. He never feels satisfied, he’s always seeking more, and he still has the capacity to carry out many tasks more effectively.
In a little over a year, Saka’s current Arsenal contract will expire, but the club is keen for him to sign a new one and is prepared to give him extremely favorable terms.
