After recovering from his injuries, Archer hopes to play in the Windies’ upcoming tests

.After being ruled out of this year’s Twenty20 World Cup and the Ashes owing to a recurrence of a stress fracture in his right elbow, England’s Jofra Archer said he wants to be fit for the test series against the West Indies in March.
Archer had a bone fragment removed from his elbow in May and missed England’s two-test series against New Zealand in June, which they lost 1-0.
The 26-year-old has also been ruled out of England’s upcoming five-test series against India, in which they are down 1-0 with the third test slated to start later on Wednesday.
“I underwent an operation in May because I wanted to get to the bottom of the problem once and for all.” Archer told the Daily Mail, “I don’t want this thing hanging over my head.”
“If I get another stress fracture, I may have a different perspective on things in the future.” But, for the time being, I’m only 26 years old, and I believe my finest years as a test cricketer are yet to come.
“I’m trying to be cautious about when I return, but there’s a chance I’ll be ready for England’s three-test series against the West Indies in the Caribbean in March.” But I’m afraid I can’t make any guarantees.”
Archer, who was born in Barbados, has been dealing with the issue since early 2020, and it has kept him out of the Indian Premier League this season.
