After Everton denied him a transfer, James Rodriguez is returning to Everton, having supposedly snubbed a move to Istanbul Basaksehir, despite the club wishing to get rid of him.

The Liverpudlians welcomed the Colombia international back on social media with a clip of him standing with Yerry Mina and new Venezuelan signing Salomon Rondon.

The 30-year-old Everton player wanted to relocate, but his destination didn’t interest the Toffees, so he stayed.

In a tweet, Basaksehir discussed their fruitless attempt to acquire Rodriguez before the Turkish transfer market closed on Wednesday.

A club spokesperson announced, “We were unable to persuade James Rodríguez to join Başakşehir because of an agreement we reached with Everton.”

After a long hiatus caused by South American World Cup qualifying matches, the Colombian is returning to Everton.

Following his summer vacation, pictures emerged of Rodriguez enjoying his break on a yacht in Ibiza and vaping.

It is not clear if Rodriguez will see playing time for Everton this season.
