However, Idrissa Thiam’s removal from the Mauritanian team starting in the 22nd minute helped the Congolese team win.
Gal Kakuta quickly started the scoring in minute 37, and Cédric Bakambu extended the lead in minute 50. Aly Abeid of Mauritania reduced the score in the 55th minute, but Arthur Masuaku of the DRC scored the third goal (67th). The Leopards are back on track and now have three points, just like Sudan, thanks to this victory. Gabon (7 pts) and Mauritania dominate this group (4 points). For the return match, Mauritania and Congo will meet on Tuesday, March 28.
