AFCON 2023: The official introduction of the four host cities’ songs and symbols
One of the State of Côte d’Ivoire’s key aims is including everyone in the success of the AFCON 2023. A conference between COCAN, the Ministry of Culture and Francophonie, and youth took place in the Salle Kodjo Ébouclé at the Palais de la Culture in Treichville at the Ministry of Culture and Francophonie’s initiative. The goal of the meeting was to prepare for an extraordinary and magnificent mobilization.
The youth are the driving force behind the mobilization
All the communes in the Autonomous District of Abidjan, as well as young people from all walks of life, responded to the invitation to contribute to meeting the challenge of the AFCON 2023, which is set to take place on Ivorian territory from January 13 to February 11, 2024.
The official transfer of competition anthems and symbols to the four host cities in the country’s interior—Yamoussoukro, Bouaké, Korhogo, and San-Pedro—marked the ceremony’s conclusion. The creation of an anthem and a symbol unique to each of the four inland host cities was the goal of a cultural competition that preceded this official ceremony. The competition aimed to promote the principles of hospitality, fair play, and cultural richness.
The youth of the area, who took part in this cultural and athletic endeavor in great numbers, approved of this initiative.
In order to tackle the challenge of mobilization and increase Côte d’Ivoire’s appeal as a travel destination for AFCON 2023, culture and sport play a crucial role. The COCAN President stated that the winning artists’ creations will serve as the AFCON’s intangible cultural legacy and represent the host cities’ genuine selves. The youths joined the officials in attendance at the ceremony in a joyful mood. Ministers Silas Metch (Minister to the Prime Minister, in charge of Sport and the Living Environment), Françoise Remarck (Minister of Culture and Francophonie), and François Albert Amichia (President of COCAN) were among them. Amid the renowned hospitality of Côte d’Ivoire, the country is telling the globe that all of its sons and daughters will rise to the occasion for the 34th edition of the continental soccer spectacle.
