The university has announced the third in a series of “Makerere At 100 Twitter Spaces” whose discussion will reflect on Makerere University’s ground-breaking health research and innovation over the last century and how it can be used to improve public health. These celebrations mark 100 years of this excellent service to humanity.

On Tuesday, August 30, 2022, at 7:00 p.m., “Makerere At 100 Twitter Spaces” will begin and last for two hours. Alumni who have excelled in the medical industry will be featured in the debate.

Dr. Olaro Charles, Director of Clinical Services at the Ministry of Health, Dr. Andrew Kambugu, Executive Director of the Infectious Diseases Institute, and Prof. Harriet Mayanja-Kizza, Professor of Medicine at Makerere University College of Health Sciences, will serve as panelists for this discussion.

Dr. Rhoda Wanyenze, Professor and Dean of the Makerere University School of Public Health, will conduct the panel and lead the audience in showcasing some of the most innovative and cutting-edge health research from the past 100 years and how it may be used to advance public health.
